Arenanet please read

Wouldnt it be a great idea on independance day to have a July the 4th Treasure Hunt. Suggesting 4 gold chests hidden behind tree's or wall's in the far corners of the maps worlds for each region.

The prize could be either 1million plat or better still a unique weapon with higher stats than any you could find like a gold Independance day sword of courage with 18-25 damage. It would get all the players searching high and low for these items exploring the maps.

This could be run again for specialist days for Europe ie VE day Victory in Europe (not sure how the germans would take it lol) and a Korean one for thier special day??

What does everyone else think

sounds like good idea, but 100plat is a bit too much, how about 5 crystal godly swords

Not to say i wouldn't love to see this happen, but i doubt it will. A-net has already said that equipment should not be a deciding factor in this game so a prize of some uper weapon or piece of armor is out of the question. Money would simply further push inflation. The only items i could see coming out of this would be either the new xp scrolls or perhaps a "Holiday" set of armor. this holiday armor would be just like the 1.5k/15k/UW armors only having a unique graphic to it. To this effect i'm unsure of how much participation we would have. Love the Idea tho, reminds me of the FFXI world events.

No problems with something like this as long as it is kept fair for everyone. A lot of us work all day and to have some youngins get to the goodies before we ever get to play isn't any good.

. And for the farthest corners of the earth, what if you haven't gotten that far in the game? Should you be penalized, no.

I love the idea would be fun if arena net would put in events for the whole community to get involved in if they wanted to but...

I doubt Arena nat will do this b/c of there endless efforts to completly wipe out farming, and putting in events of this sort in the game b/c it would promote not doing the mission or quest or playing pvp it would require ppl to portal in a and out of towns looking for something which as we have seen from past updates is totally forbidden.

OUR MOST PRIZED EFFORTS AT ARENANET(this is only my opinion)
1.If you farm we will catch you and call you a exploiter and bann your account with no warning.
2.If you find a easy way to get xp=banned
so on and so forth

I mean for God sakes ppl they put in fissure with armor you could not even get b/c all the crafting ,ats were not there to get
plus all the armor in fissure may look different than the rest of the armor in the game but guess what no matter what set you pick from fissure it will look just like another set you would get in fissure
heck they cant even put a 15k set of druids armor in that looks different
i guess what i am saying is they need to start worrying more about the game rather trying to find ways to bann ppl all the time and trying to make quote fair for everyone.
heck if they want to do that just give everybody lvl 20 characters with everything unlocked runes,weapons,armor ext....there you go no more grind, no more farming, no more bots ,no more crappy economy, no more scams ,no more bitching from the noobs that cant play,no more nothing.EVERYONE is on the same playing field.

But guess what a-net i think there more than you think that likes to go out and try to get the stuff they need.unless they are just complete boons and want everything give to them heck if you want that go play a FPS this is a rpg ROLL PLAYING GAME with some fps aspects to it which i like
i like that fact of having to go out and farm or grind or what ever you want to call it to get what i need to play pvp.
but the way a-net is making it heck any ol tom dick or harry can get it also
those that put the time in to go and get what they need for the pvp aspect of the game should be rewarded by getting the elite skills or good weapons or armor or just what ever and if dick boonstick over here wants it he will have to put the same amount of time in also.

sry for all the bitching a-net i think you made a great game that has loads of potential but if you keep just making it so easy for everyone then you see a falling off of players that will just get plain out tired of the game.
remember what your priorties for the game was before you released it
to have a fun long lasting rpg for those that like that and also the best pvp in the rpg industry. you can keep both happy if you keep your priorties in order.

As Rfox gets down off the soap box and hands the microphone back tp me I say

"Maybe 1 million plat is a bit much. But a uniquely named weapon with same stats shouldnt be hard to create. I agree in it being fair so a weekend event would be good and 4 corners would appeal to everyone Asc-Desert-Jungle-Fire areas and then to hide them where you would have to search.

But having thourght about it it wouldnt work as you would have to create an individual drop for everyone who went out serching it lol

maybe a timed quest event where its dropped in a random area and everyone has a chance to find it. like a timed mission with 1 hour to find it and you can only take the quest once even if you fail may be short notice for the programers but something they could look at in the future.
